There are a lot of benefits to using guided meditations. For me, guided meditations help me relax, sleep well, refocus, manifest my desires, get centered, and change my thought patterns. I have a nice collection of meditations that I highly recommend, and the best part is that most are free! Meditation is super good for you. It quiets the mind, lowers blood pressure, relieves stress and allows your soul to connect with spirit. This brings calmness and clarity. If you’re like me and have a hard time being still and quiet, meditation is hard to do. I have a hard time stopping my thoughts and focusing on nothing but my breath without assistance. Guided meditations make it easy for even the busiest mind to quickly enter a nice state of relaxation and reap the benefits of meditation.
Why I Use Guided Meditations
After a stressful day at work, it’s sometimes hard to get my mind to realize it’s way past quitting time. Even if I’m not thinking about work, my mind often wants to keep planning and plotting. The “chatter” is often hard to stop, and can be especially frustrating if I’m trying to relax and go to sleep. The best natural cure for stress and restlessness that I’ve found is listening to a guided meditation. It relaxes me quickly and I find that I sleep like a baby, waking up totally rested and in a positive frame of mind.
Guided meditations also help change the type of thoughts I have. When I notice I’m tending to think in a negative way or stressing about about little things, I know it’s time to redirect my thought patterns. I choose a guided meditation that applies to my situation and listen after getting comfortable in bed at night. It doesn’t matter if I fall asleep, because my subconscious mind hears the message. I feel refreshed the next morning, and always notice a positive change in my thoughts as I go through the next day.
How to Choose a Guided Mediation
There are guided meditations available for any situation or desire. Whether you want to lose weight, feel better about yourself, connect with spirit guides, or just relax on a beautiful imaginary beach – there is a guided meditation that will meet your needs. You can find the perfect meditation on the internet, and many are free! Many you can listen to online, others you can download and listen from your phone or mp3 player. On the bottom of this page is a list of some of my favorite resources for guided meditations.
Once I decide on the type of meditation I want, I search and usually find several to choose from. I always have a short “test listen” online to make sure I’m comfortable with the speakers voice as well as the background music before making my final decision to listen, download or buy. For me, it’s important to “connect” with the speaker so I can relax and not think about how I don’t like his or her voice….
